FREE HIV SCREENINGS

The CDC recommends that individuals between ages 13 and 64 get tested for HIV at least once as part of routinehealth care. However, if you suspect that you’ve been exposed to HIV, you should get tested right away.Individuals are able to receive free HIV screenings at Saint Paul AME Church by appointment only. Screenings arealso available at community events. This is a free service that is available to all community members. Pleasecontact us at 334-293-1220 to schedule you appointment today.

An essential part in ending the HIV epidemic is ensuring our communities are provided education to be informedabout HIV, while encouraging community members to share knowledge with others. She Looks Like Me is availableto provide basic HIV facts and information to reduce stigma surrounding an HIV diagnosis by providing evidencebased HIV education. We also have educational resources that provide information on ways to prevent HIVexposure. Through our educational programs with intend to broaden the scope of HIV education to ensure a moreopen and holistic approach to learning more about HIV.​

LINKAGE TO CARE

HIV linkage to care is a service that helps individuals who are newly diagnosed with HIV get into medical care and treatment at soon as possible. She Looks Like Me maintains community partnerships to connect clients to organizations that address HIV care treatment, including comprehensive testing, PrEP and PEP services. Our team currently has a community resources navigator and case manager on staff to assist clients with linkage needs.

COMMUNITY ENGAGEMENT

She Looks Like Me is committed to providing meaningful and intentional community engagement to advance the goals of the Ending the HIV Epidemic initiative. We are available to provide HIV education and offer resources that address HIV stigma and promote HIV awareness and prevention.
